Windows 11: Locate your PC Name
Method 1 — Find Computer Name Using Settings (Recommended)
- Click the Start button (Windows icon).
- Select Settings.
- In the left menu, click System.
- Scroll down and select About.
- Under the Device specifications section, locate Device name — this is your computer name.
Method 2 — Using the Run Command
- Press Windows key + R on your keyboard.
- Type:
sysdm.cpl - Press Enter.
- In the System Properties window, select the Computer Name tab. Your computer name appears at the top.
Method 3 — Using Command Prompt
- Click the Start button and type cmd.
- Open Command Prompt.
- Type:
hostname - Press Enter. The computer name will display in the window.
Method 4 — Using Windows Search
- Click Start or click inside the Search bar.
- Type PC name.
- Select View your PC name from the results. Your computer name appears on the About page.
