Add 365 Email to Android Phone (Outlook App)

Follow the steps below to install Outlook and sign in with your company Microsoft 365 email.

Step 1. Install the Outlook App

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android phone.
  2. Search for Microsoft Outlook.
  3. Tap Install.
  4. Once installed, tap Open.

Step 2. Add Your Microsoft 365 Email Account

  1. When Outlook opens, tap Add Account.

    When Outlook asks what type of account to add:
    Office 365” / “Work or school account

    Do NOT choose “Outlook.com,” “Exchange,” or “Microsoft Account.”
    • TIP: Sometimes logging into the account in the phone’s browser first helps the app identify the account before installing the app.
  2. Enter your company email address
  3. Tap Continue.
  4. You will be redirected to the Microsoft 365 login screen.
  5. Enter your Microsoft 365 password and tap Sign in.
  6. If prompted, approve the login using:
    • Microsoft Authenticator, or
    • text message code, depending on your company’s setup.
  7. Outlook will ask for permission to access your email, contacts, and calendars. Tap Allow.

Step 3. Finish Setup

  1. Choose Skip or Next through any introduction screens.
  2. Outlook will begin syncing your:
    • Email
    • Calendar
    • Contacts
  3. You are now ready to use Outlook on your Android device.

Important Notes

  • Use the Outlook app only — do not add your account in the built-in Android “Mail” app unless instructed.
  • If your company requires extra security, you may also be prompted to install Microsoft Authenticator or Company Portal. Follow the on-screen instructions.
