Windows 11: Locate your PC Name

Method 1 — Find Computer Name Using Settings (Recommended)

  1. Click the Start button (Windows icon).
  2. Select Settings.
  3. In the left menu, click System.
  4. Scroll down and select About.
  5. Under the Device specifications section, locate Device name — this is your computer name.

Method 2 — Using the Run Command

  1. Press Windows key + R on your keyboard.
  2. Type: sysdm.cpl
  3. Press Enter.
  4. In the System Properties window, select the Computer Name tab. Your computer name appears at the top.

Method 3 — Using Command Prompt

  1. Click the Start button and type cmd.
  2. Open Command Prompt.
  3. Type: hostname
  4. Press Enter. The computer name will display in the window.

Method 4 — Using Windows Search

  1. Click Start or click inside the Search bar.
  2. Type PC name.
  3. Select View your PC name from the results. Your computer name appears on the About page.
