Turn Off: New User Registration

To turn off new user registration in WordPress (so people can’t create their own accounts), follow these steps:

From the WordPress Admin Dashboard

1. Log in to your WordPress Admin panel.
2. Go to Settings → General.
3. Find the option labeled “Membership”.
4. Uncheck the box that says “Anyone can register.”
5. Scroll down and click Save Changes.

The “Register” link (if visible on your site) will no longer allow new sign-ups. Only administrators will be able to add new users manually under Users → Add New.
